Explanation
Because all people have sinned, the just consequence is that all people die. This death isn’t necessarily immediate physical death. We do not die physically the first time we sin, and neither did Adam and Eve. But we will die physically as a result of our sin.
But we do immediately die spiritually. But Scripture teaches that sin brings an immediate spiritual death represented by separation from God (Isa 59:1–2), bondage to sin (Titus 3:3), and being dead in trespasses (Eph 2:1–3).
