While observing the text, look for words that indicate a conclusion the author or speaker is making. For, therefore, because, for this reason, so that, etc. are used to express a conclusion that comes from a teaching.

For example,

Genesis 3:22 Then the LORD God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil. And now, lest he reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life, and eat, and live forever…” Genesis 3:23 Therefore the LORD God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken.

Observe how the “therefore” at the beginning of Genesis 3:23 ties back to what God said in verse 22.
